Xdefiant twitter11/24/2023 ![]() Will update again as soon as we have more info. Still aiming for later this summer! To be clear we will be launching on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S (aka current gen) first with other platforms coming later. ![]() This is a process that can take some time though so please bear with us. The launch window for XDefiant is still slated as "summer" of this year: Quick insight into what’s going on right now. It’s just a matter now of getting approved by first-party platform holders for certifcation. A lot of work so we'll see when it can be done. Over on Twitter, Producer Mark Rubin announced that the XDefiant release is still on track and nothing has changed on that front. Mark also wants to add a fully customizable HUD to XDefiant later down the road:ĭefinitely, not something we can do for launch but at some point post-launch I actually want to add a fully customizable HUD so you can move elements around and possibly resize as well. Factions can be bought or grinded without paying. He goes on to reiterate that no gameplay is behind a paywall in XDefiant, and that even weapons of the battle pass are on the free track and just require some grinding: Yes, even though we are a free-to-play game and rely on microtransactions, we want to always have cool free content to grind for. He has also addressed the importance of having free content in a game that focuses on microtransactions for income: Also, you can choose to turn off input MM. We'll do our best to make sure everyone is having the best experience possible. What we've done is set some numbers such that if we really can't find good ping games then it will mix input MM. He's been addressing issues such as ping for Oceania players, free content, and customizable HUDs in the upcoming shooter.įirst up is ping issues in matchmaking for Oceania players, with Mark saying:Īgreed. PS4 and Xbox One versions will be out at a later unspecified timeframe.XDefiant Executive Producer Mark Rubin has been quite active on Twitter recently answering fan questions and concerns. ![]() XDefiant has no release date yet but it is due in “summer” for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Some of the things discussed by devs include the addition of a ‘streaks system, and even the possibility of a fully customizable HUD. XDefiant seems to be hitting all the right notes so far when it comes to its potential player base. So hopefully will have something ready for that area. We use Google which doesn’t have servers in that region (I was surprised to be honest) and so we are working with another provider to get coverage. Also, FYI, there will be pristine versions of weapons as well.įinally, we have some good news for players in Africa! Rubin has also confirmed that they are looking into server solutions given Google doesn’t have any servers in the region. Good question! So my art direction for weapons was “make them look like they went through a meat grinder” and I think the team did a great job of building weapons with a lot of character. In addition to that, while we know that the game will feature gun camos (skins), it looks like if you’re not a fan of the weathered look we’ve seen in the beta, there’s a “pristine” version of the weapons as well. Hopefully not far after launch but definitely not at launch. I’ve actually talked about this one before. ![]() This was confirmed by XDefiant Producer Mark Rubin who mentioned that while it might not be available at launch, the dev team’s hoping it won’t be long before it’s rolled out. While the game will support this feature, it won’t be available at launch. Those looking for custom lobbies in XDefiant, you’re in for some good and bad news. ![]()
